This collection of images stemmed from my observations of myself and others, and especially tourists. Last year, in 2011, I bought my first DSLR, and I noticed that I had somewhat entered a club of sorts - one where amateurs and professionals expressed their love for photography in almost every aspect of their lives, most obviously though their picture-taking experience. However, most photographers don't have many photos of themselves, they only have photos of others, and the environments that surround them, and so I wanted to capture the experience of taking photos in a way that included these unique and artistic people.
I also had the fortunate experience to study abroad in Paris, and while I was there I traveled around Europe. It was when I was traveling that I noticed the varying photo-taking behaviors of tourists. It was very interesting, and also humorous at times, to be able to see tourists, myself including, interact with their surroundings in capturing the moments of their trips. It's as if all of a sudden, nothing else matters but capturing the right image - whether it's of a person, famous building, or a bug.
